Thousands of visitors from all over the world come to Alkmaar especially for the cheese market. It is therefore a special spectacle with a square full of cheese and lugging cheese carriers. In 2025, the cheese market will take place on every Friday from March 28 to September 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the months of July and August there are also special evening cheese markets on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
